Zimbabwe Investors Get Access to Dangote Refinery IPO

Zimbabwean investors will soon be able to participate in the initial public offering (IPO) of Dangote Refinery through a regional Depository Receipt (DR) programme, following regulatory approval granted to the Financial Securities Exchange (FINSEC).
FINSEC has been approved by the Securities and Exchange Commission of Zimbabwe (SECZ) to act as the Zimbabwean market coordinator and distribution and order-routing platform for the offering.
The regional DR programme is being facilitated through the Botswana Stock Exchange (BSE), which will serve as the primary market for the regional issuance.
The development follows negotiations among SADC stock exchanges under the Committee of SADC Stock Exchanges (CoSSE) to secure regional access to the Dangote Refinery IPO.
For Zimbabwean investors, the programme provides a regulated channel to participate in the offering without having to directly access the Nigerian market.
The offer is scheduled to open on 29 September 2026 and close on 9 October 2026, with a minimum investment of US$100.
Investors will be able to access the offer through C-TRADE and EcoCash, while Corpserve Registrars will serve as the local registrar and nominee operator. InvestQ Ok Wealth is listed as the lead sponsoring broker, with Nedbank serving as the local collection bank.
FINSEC said the initiative forms part of efforts to expand regional investment opportunities and improve Zimbabwean investors’ access to securities across SADC markets.
Participation remains subject to exchange control requirements and other applicable investor approvals.
