Air Zimbabwe Resumes Direct Harare–London Flights

HARARE, July 9, 2026 – Air Zimbabwe will resume its direct scheduled passenger flights between Harare and London Gatwick from July 22, 2026, restoring a key international route aimed at improving connectivity between Zimbabwe and the United Kingdom.

In a statement, the national airline said the service will operate three times a week. Flights from Harare will depart on Sundays, Wednesdays and Fridays, while return services from London Gatwick will operate on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays. The airline will operate from the South Terminal at London Gatwick Airport.

Air Zimbabwe said the reinstatement of the route marks a significant milestone in its history and reflects its commitment to reconnecting Zimbabwe with global markets. The airline expects the service to boost tourism, trade, investment and diaspora travel while strengthening economic ties between Zimbabwe and the UK.

Promotional fares start at US$495 one-way and US$900 return from Harare to London, while London to Harare fares begin at £490 one-way and £675 return, subject to availability and terms and conditions.

The flights will be operated using an Airbus A330-300 under an Aircraft, Crew, Maintenance and Insurance (ACMI) agreement with Spanish carrier Plus Ultra Líneas Aéreas. Under the arrangement, Plus Ultra will provide the aircraft, crew, maintenance and insurance, while Air Zimbabwe will manage ticket sales, passenger services and the route's commercial operations.
