Zimbabwe's gospel music scene is set for a powerful celebration of faith and thanksgiving as the July Worship Music Festival returns to Glamis Arena in Harare on Saturday, 11 July 2026, under the theme "The Highest Praise."

The annual festival will bring together some of the country's leading gospel ministers and worship leaders, including Minister Michael Mahendere & Direct Worship, Pastor Misheck Mahendere, Minister Ellard and Sharon Cherayi, Vimbai Mahendere, Gemma Griffiths, The Unveiled, Eleana Makombe, and The Charambas, among other celebrated artists.

 This year's festival places a stronger emphasis on praise and gratitude. Organisers say the event is designed to encourage believers to thank God for his faithfulness throughout the year, leaving attendees spiritually refreshed, burden-free, and filled with hope.

Speaking ahead of the event, Eugine Lingi said the festival's message is rooted in cultivating an attitude of gratitude.

This year's festival is about giving God the highest praise. Yes, we will worship, but our focus is on praising and thanking Him for carrying us through the year. We want people to leave lighter, happier, burden-free, and with a renewed appreciation of God's goodness," he said.

A major highlight of this year's edition is the introduction of diverse genres, making its debut at the festival. The new addition seeks to provide a platform for young artists while showcasing the diversity of gospel music.

This year, we're introducing a hip-hop section for the first time. It's all about empowering people, nurturing talent and making an impact—something Minister Michael Mahendere is championing in the music industry.

Organisers say the long-term vision is to grow the July Worship Music Festival into one of Zimbabwe's premier gospel gatherings, attracting worshippers from across the country for a week-long celebration featuring multiple gospel genres, ministry, and musical excellence.

The festival is expected to unite thousands of believers in an atmosphere of praise, worship, and thanksgiving, reaffirming its place as one of Zimbabwe's flagship gospel music events.
