AFC Bank has introduced Open Cred, a new microfinance lending solution aimed at providing quick and convenient access to credit for individuals, entrepreneurs, small businesses and corporate clients across Zimbabwe.

Launched in Harare, the facility forms part of the bank’s broader strategy to promote financial inclusion and support economic growth by making funding more accessible to a wider range of customers.

The new platform allows clients to apply for loans through multiple channels, including USSD, a mobile application and online services, reducing the barriers often associated with traditional lending processes. Customers can also access support through AFC Bank’s branch network and agent outlets located across the country.

Speaking during the launch, AFC Bank officials said Open Cred was developed in response to growing demand for flexible financing solutions that meet the needs of modern consumers and businesses. The facility is expected to assist customers with personal financial requirements, business expansion, working capital needs and other productive investments.

The bank noted that combining digital platforms with physical service points will help extend financial services to previously underserved communities, particularly in areas where access to conventional banking services remains limited.

With the introduction of Open Cred, AFC Bank is positioning itself to play a greater role in empowering individuals and enterprises through accessible financing, while contributing to broader efforts to stimulate economic activity and improve financial participation throughout Zimbabwe.
